The Evolution of CDIF
CDIF was born out of the recognition that domain-specific standards, while essential for their own communities, often fail to provide the necessary metadata for effective reuse in multi-disciplinary research. By identifying the common core of metadata needed for discovery, access, and integration, CDIF provides a 'lingua franca' that bridges these gaps.
Today, the framework continues to evolve under the guidance of CODATA and a growing global community of FAIR data experts and practitioners.
